Congrats Adenan! So Sarawak will have a new chief minister come Feb 28. Outgoing CM PehinSri Abdul Taib Mahmud has finally made up his choice of succesor - Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

We can expect a smooth transition of power in Sarawak but we must not always take such thing for granted. For that to happen, it is important for the ruling Sarawak BN to remain intact. PBB, in particular, as a backbone of the state BN must continue to be strong and avoid factionalism and infighting.

Taib parting message to his party comrades was clear. It's "Sarawak for Sarawakian" meaning that the state should be led and managed by Sarawakian.

SUPP & SPDP internal crisis must be resolved - Adenan
The internal crisis clouding the future of SUPP & SPDP must be resolved before the state Barisan Nasional (BN) faces the next state election. In saying this, incoming chief minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem yesterday added he has a few ideas that could solved the problems.

"We have to solve the internal problem in SUPP. I have a few ideas on how to get about solving it. I wont tell you now but at a letter stage. The same goes with the problem with SPDP. Fortunately, we do not have much problem with PRS & PBB.

"However, these problems must be resolved before the election one way or the other. It has become my responsibility now," Adenan who is currently the Special Function Minister in the Chief Minister's Office told a packed press conference at his office at the Sarawak Foundation, Petra Jaya, Kuching.

Dr. Dusit Jaul (President SDGA) -  The Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) welcomes with cautious optimism the appointment of Special Functions Minister in the Chief Minister's Office Tan Sri Adenan Satem as the state fifth chief minister.

He said the association noted that under the present political system, the sitting chief minister (Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud) has the prerogative to choose his successor.

In this context, and taking into consideration party hierarchy, it saddened association members that a person holding the second most senior position in the party hierarchy, who happened to be a Dayak, was not even mentioned, let alone consider as a possible candidate for the post.

Dusit added that to most Dayak, this was considered a challenge, if not a setback to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who strongly advocated the policy of 1Malaysia and inclusivenes. He is reffering to Deputy Chief Minister and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy  president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu who was not among the candidates considered for the chief minister's post.
