The Dayak Dillemma

Aku bekunsika sekeda ari article ka bisi dipansutka bala kaban ba mua bup. Ditu aku bekunsika siti ari penemu bala kaban ke bisi dikunsi ari FB ba senentang dillema kitai Dayak. Di tulis ngena jaku ribai, baca taja ia panjai.

The Dayak Dilemma: The dilemma of the Dayak being, the "BUNYI-PUTRA" and being the "AK- Awak Kemudian"

Over the years, the Dayak seems to be subjected to the constructive political game, especially with respect to their participation and placement in the gov't sectors, as well as the institute of higher learning, by looking at their current participation numbers, in that respective organization.*_

To-date, there is no signs of a concrete plan being mooted or highlighted by the State leaders yet, with respect to the Dayak's displeasure on the ongoing proliferation of the Dayak, i.e. like the failure to secure a placement in the public universities, the failure to secure scholarships, the failure to secure top management jobs in the gov't sectors, the failure to be part of the GLC BOD placement of choice, etc.

The State seems to have not taking heed to the voice of the Dayak NGOs, like the SDGA, that have relentlessly highlighting their displeasure with respect to the current racial imbalance, and equal opportunities in the gov't sectors.

The dilemma of the Dayak encompass many areas, and among them includes, but not limited to the following;
Employment opportunities and promotion; State civil service, GLC, - less favourable
▪Education  and scholarships ; IPTA quota system - less favourable.
▪ Economic; Halal  certification requirement - a barrier .
▪ Religion ; Less favourable - lack of gov't grant.
▪etc.

The above are some of the many trust deficits, that the Dayak felt towards the gov't, that have in some way, constitutes to the continuous widening in the state's racial divide.

There are no positive measures that is visible being instituted yet, that could help the poor students of all the races, in particularly the Dayak, to enrol in the institute of higher learning, especially in the public universities.

For instance, the Sarawak Foundation, is one of the body that has been entrusted to provide scholarships over the years, however, since its establishment, how many Dayak has really benefitted from it?

The scholarship's handouts doesn't seem to show a reflective of the Dayak's position being the majoirity in terms of population.

The Dayak are still struggling, and still unable to be part of this so called "equal opportunity club". It is only fair, that all races, especially the Dayak, should be treated fairly and being given equal opportunities, too.

The State must be seen to play their unbias role, in reducing the disparity gap between all the races, not only in capacity building, but also in capability building development too.

Nowadays the Dayak, are more aware of the word, "equal opportunity". It's only a matter of time, that more Dayak will be awakened (and to finally dawn onto them), that all along, they have been constructively sidelined and being deprived of placement and promotion opportunities.

However, there seems to be no concrete solution to this "thorny issues" yet, thus, how should the Dayak  tackle this, constructive political game, i.e. before it goes out of hand, and this issues roll-over to their next generation?

Maybe, a new social engineering and affirmative action to help the Dayak, that should be introduced, to address this racial imbalance issues?

Looking forward to the day when the Dayak finally called it a day, and say enough is enough.
